Faith Formation
Note from the Pastor
Lent will begin on Ash Wednesday, February 22. It is a crucial season for Christians, a time to seek newness of life. On that day we begin our community fast and review of life. In order to maintain the integrity of this important day, we will not distribute ashes at the Shrove Tuesday Service on the preceding evening. All are welcome to the “Shrove Tuesday” Service. It will include Scripture, the burning of last year’s palms and the changing of the liturgical environment to a sparser and more subdued environment. In order to highlight Ash Wednesday, this service will not include the distribution of ashes. (Bulletin 2/12/12)
Adult Confirmation
Adults who wish to be confirmed should contact us as soon as possible. The parish will help them with the necessary preparation so that they can become fully initiated members of the Catholic Church. Simply call Fr. Dennis at 366-1750.
Could Catholicism be Right for You or Someone You Know?
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a process designed for adults, and children of catechetical age, who are considering Catholicism. If someone you know is interested in exploring Catholicism, encourage them to investigate by offering to accompany them to an inquiry session. Each session is different. Locations vary. The sessions are responsive to the questions or concerns of inquirers, are informal, and always interesting. New faces are always welcome! Come and see! For more information, contact Patty Marshall (672-7448) of St. Joseph or Wendy Kachermeyer (366-2827) of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton. (Bulletin 2/12/12)
